The following instructions show how to export your current Gemini sessions and generated images in JSON format.
1. Go to Google Takeout at https://takeout.google.com:
2. Verify you are signed into the same Google account that was used for Gemini by clicking the user icon on the top-right:
3. Under “CREATE A NEW EXPORT” click “Deselect all.”
4. Scroll to My Activity and check the box (not the stand-alone “Gemini/Gemini Gems” option). Make sure “Select data to include” shows only one selected item:
5. Click “All activity data included.”
6. In the “My Activity content options” window, click “Deselect all” and then select only “Gemini Apps” then click “OK”:
7. After hitting “OK,” click “Multiple formats” then “JSON” for “Activity records:”
The “My Activity” selection should now look like this:
8. Click “Next step”:
9. Under “Transfer to:” select how you would like to receive the data:
10. You should see the export process start:
11. In the case of email delivery, you will receive a download link when export is complete:
12. Clicking the link in the email will take you to the export status and download screen. Click “Download” to download the exported chat logs (you will be asked to identify yourself again):
13. The archive can be expanded by double-clicking the downloaded ZIP file, which contain all your sessions in a single JSON file located in “Takeout/My Activity/Gemini Apps/MyActivity.json” as well as any assets like generated images.
